The fun fanciful yet very warm handmade
recycled fleece Jester Hat will make everyone simile.
This hat is for attention attracting
personalities! The top is made of a complex junction of three spiraling
points with hand cut tassels on each end. A two layer headband has large
earflaps with hand cut chin tie straps. The jester hat is important to me
as it started The Mouse Works. In 1994, at the age of 14 my
second sewing project resulted in the creation of the Jester Hat made out of some
fleece blankets. The next day The Mouse Works was born when a high school
friend bought it for cross-country running. Sense then, it has become a
favorite for those who like funky hats and costumes. Stretchy fleece fits children age 4 up to adults 99+ years old. |

About the fleece
Most of my fleece is made by Malden Mills here in the USA. It is the
best fleece available that does not pill or degrade like cheaper imported

I work with different thicknesses which provide
different levels of insulation for outdoor activities.
100 weight fabrics are the lightest and are excellent for a warm first layer,
for heavy aerobic activity such as running or for warmer climates.
200 weight is about twice as thick as 100wt. It is the normal weight that
jackets are made of. It provides outstanding warmth and versatility.
300 weight is the thickest. It provides the most warmth. It normally is too thick for most hats
Berber is a special fleece that is nubbly on the outside with a smooth face for the inside. Many folks enjoy the texture of this fabric. It is not as wind resistant as regular fleece.
